Robin van Persie has equalled the record of 18 goals scored in a season from January 1 onwards held by Thierry Henry and Cristiano Ronaldo.The Dutchman has been in prolific form since the turn of the year and his late charge took him to within two goals of the Premier League's joint-top scorers - Dimitar Berbatov and Carlos Tevez. Van Persie has also extended his Premier League record by scoring in a ninth successive away match.The previous record holder was Chelsea's Didier Drogba with goals in six successive away games between August and November 2009.
